assorted period items

Despite Black Butler being a fantasy manga, Toboso Yana has done her research. She often name-drops items from very real companies that did in fact exist in the Victorian Era.

General Trading: (Chapter 18) Agni destroys a chest Lord West bought at General Trading. NOTE: This particular company was not established until 1920. However, it does have a Royal Warrant, making it likely that it is the company being referred to, meaning Tobosu Yana just accidentally committed a slight anachronism.

Herend China: (Chapter 5) Sebastian serves Ciel tea on a Herend Chinois tea set. Herend is a small town in Hungary famous for its porcelain manufacturing.

J.J. Fox Cigars: (Chapter 18) Lord West offers Agni Havana cigars bought from James Fox. James J. Fox was a real man, who, by the time of his death, was the most influential tobaccanist of his time. He established his cigar company in 1787.

Lock Hats: (Chapter 18) One of the objects Lord West is worried will be destroyed is his "Lock Hat." Lock & Co. Hatters is located in London and was established in 1676.

Royal Doulton: (Chapter 1) The ceylon tea served to Ciel is said to be from "Royal Doulton" by Sebastian. The Royal Doulton Company specializes in tableware and figurines, and was established in 1815. Its parent company is Wedgwood.

Wedgwood China: (Chapter 1) Sebastian serves Ciel morning tea in a Wedgwood tea set. Wedgwood was established in 1759.
